Charitable Organizations

Aquatic Escapes is a local business, and the water we work on every day belongs to this community. Captain Jarrod gives back where he can do the most good: with Tampa Bay’s fishing community and with the veterans who call it home. These are the organizations we stand behind.

Veterans Inshore Slam

In 2019 Captain Jarrod started the Veterans Inshore Slam, a charity fishing tournament for Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County, and ran it as tournament director for its first five years.

Teams spend a morning on Tampa Bay chasing an inshore slam of snook, redfish and trout, then head back to the dock for the awards and the after party. The money raised goes to Habitat’s Veterans Initiative, which helps local veterans with affordable homeownership and home repairs.

Habitat reported $100,000 or more raised in each of those five years, and the tournament is still going every fall.

Charity Partner

Angling for Relief

Angling for Relief is a Tampa nonprofit, a registered 501(c)(3), that brings fishing to kids fighting cancer. They hand out Dry Fishing kits so children can practice casting from a hospital bed, host Fishing is Relief family days on the seawall, and send families out on inshore trips with licensed captains.

Captain Jarrod supports their work, and Aquatic Escapes is proud to be a charity partner of Angling for Relief.
